How to compress images
Drop one or more images above. They are compressed straight away using the quality you choose. 70–85% is usually indistinguishable from the original while being much smaller. Change any setting and every image is re-processed instantly, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Which format should I use?
- JPG: best for photos. Small files, supported everywhere.
- PNG: best for screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges or transparency. Lossless, so files are bigger.
- WebP: modern format that's typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality, and supports transparency. Ideal for websites.
Resize for email, websites and forms
Set a maximum width or height to shrink large phone photos. The aspect ratio is always kept. For example, a max width of 1920 is plenty for websites and slideshows, and 1200 is good for email.
Privacy and metadata
Your images are processed on your own device and are never uploaded. Re-encoded images also drop hidden metadata such as camera details and GPS location, which makes them safer to share publicly.
