How to convert Word to PDF

  1. Drop your .docx file above, or click to choose it. A preview appears straight away.
  2. Choose A4 or US Letter and the margins you want.
  3. Click Create PDF to download your PDF.

What's kept in the PDF?

Headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, bulleted and numbered lists, tables, links and pictures. The PDF has real text, so it can be searched and copied. Page layout details such as text boxes, columns, headers, footers and your document's exact fonts are simplified, so check the preview before you download.

Documents in other languages

The built-in PDF font covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic alphabets. For Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew or emoji, click Print / Save as PDF instead and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. That uses your device's own fonts, so every character appears.

Can I convert old .doc files?

Not directly. The older Word 97–2003 .doc format can't be read in a browser. Open the file in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice, choose File → Save as and pick .docx, then drop the new file here.

Is my document uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your document never reaches a server. That makes it safe for contracts, CVs, letters and anything else private.

Need to merge, rotate or watermark the PDF afterwards? Use the PDF Converter, which also converts Excel and text files to PDF.
